DESCRIPTION:is a prescription drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by candida and yeast infections of the skin and nails. DIFLUCAN is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which belongs to the class of drugs known as corticosteroids. This drug is used to treat infections caused by candida and yeast infections of the skin and nails.
DOSE:The dosage range for this drug is one tablet (250 mg) taken orally three times daily (twice a day) or as directed by the physician. The length of treatment depends on the severity of the infection and the patient’s response to the medication. It is important that the infection be treated with a proper infection control method to prevent the development of drug-resistant bacteria. To achieve a cure, the patient should take the full course of treatment with antibiotics (250 mg), including any suppressive therapy, for at least 2 weeks (6-12 weeks) and then complete cure (full eradication). To reduce the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria, patients should be advised to take the drug for as long as their medical history (including prior treatment, immunosuppression, skin conditions) remains normal and to have symptoms of infection such as fever, skin rash or joint swelling. Dosing should be continued even after the full course of treatment. The duration of treatment may vary from person to person, and may not be longer than 7 days for severe or life-threatening infections.
The duration of treatment may be longer if patients are taking other drugs for a longer time. This drug should be avoided during pregnancy because of possible risks of pregnancy.
For fungal infections of the skin and nails, the duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection and the patient’s response to the medication. For fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by Candida, it is usually recommended to start with a lower dose of the drug, such as one tablet (250 mg) taken orally three times daily. Treatment should be continued for at least 3 days after the infection has cleared from the body. In the case of severe infections, the dose may be reduced or increased to 250 mg. If the patient has not responded to oral therapy and the bacteria is resistant to oral antibiotics, treatment should be continued.
The doctor should perform a complete physical exam of the patient before the start of treatment, as directed by the physician. The doctor should rule out any other medical conditions the patient may have and to check the patient’s liver function before prescribing the drug. The doctor may also use a blood test to check the liver enzymes.
To reduce the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria, the doctor may prescribe the drug for a longer duration. To reduce the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria, the doctor may use the drug for a shorter duration. It is recommended that the patient takes a full course of treatment for at least 2 weeks. During this course, the doctor may prescribe antibacterial medication such as an antibiotic, such as doxycycline, to help clear the bacteria from the body. In the case of a complete eradication of the infection from the body, the patient should take the full course of treatment as directed. If the infection has cleared from the body, the doctor will give the patient the full course of treatment as directed. In the case of a partial eradication of the infection from the body, the doctor will give the patient the full course of treatment. It is recommended that the patient takes the full course of treatment for at least 2 weeks.
